When people hear about my crazy wrastle-punch days, they almost always ask me if I've had any injuries as a result. Well, a few bruises and bumps, a black eye or two, I got cut over the eye once, you know, the usual. Seriously though, it's not checkers. This is what I live with every day. (This is a list of injuries from competition- MMA, kickboxing, Muay Thai, Sanda, K-1, not including training injuries, surgeries, and non-fight related injures)
Think you want to be a fighter? Weigh the pros and cons first before you step in the cage, people. It's not all fun and games, trophy belts, fast women, cool tattoos with flaming skulls that have snakes coming out the eye sockets, riches beyond your wildest dreams, the mayor giving you the key to the city, and being constantly hounded for autographs day and night.
Anyone who tells you they've never been injured in a fight is either extremely lucky, or more likely, they haven't spent enough time in the ring yet. If you get into a fight with weapons, you will get injured. If you get into a fist fight, you will get punched.
